This painting was done in 3 layers. First, a blurred portrait was painted and allowed to dry. Afterwards, a mist of white was sprayed over the whole thing and I dragged my finger across the surface, revealing the original image underneath. The effect was like that of wiping fog off of a mirror after a hot shower. I wanted to push the reveal a bit more so I let the painting dry once more and masked off a corner with a sharp edge and repainted the original image from underneath.
